The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Legal Assistant to join a busy and respected Wills & Estates team. Working closely with senior legal professionals, you will play a key role in providing high-quality administrative and client support while ensuring matters are managed efficiently and professionally. This position would suit a highly organised individual who enjoys working in a client-focused environment, has excellent attention to detail, and can confidently manage competing priorities.

- Opening, maintaining and closing physical and electronic files while ensuring accurate document management and compliance with internal procedures.
- Managing client enquiries, coordinating appointments, and liaising professionally with clients, beneficiaries, stakeholders, and external parties.
- Providing high-level administrative support through document preparation, correspondence drafting, dictation, scanning, photocopying, and file management.
- Assisting with the preparation, processing,



and issuing of invoices while supporting general billing and administrative functions.
- Managing sensitive safe custody documentation and records while following established protocols and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Supporting legal practitioners with day-to-day matter management, ensuring deadlines, appointments, and key milestones are met efficiently.
- Handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Your Skills & Experience:

- Previous experience in a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or legal administration position, ideally within Wills & Estates or a similar practice area.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with clients and stakeholders from all backgrounds.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with proven ability to prioritise competing tasks and manage deadlines effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Advanced administrative skills, including document preparation, file management, and general office support.
- A proactive and team-focused approach with the ability to work collaboratively while also managing responsibilities independently.




- Strong computer literacy and confidence working across legal practice management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- A Justice of the Peace (JP) or Commissioner for Declarations qualification, or willingness to obtain one, will be highly regarded.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Cairns, working Monday to Friday. Applicants must be able to work from Cairns and have the legal right to work in Australia in a manner that allows them to meet the ongoing requirements of the position.
