Red Shed is a not-for-profit facility on Black Mountain Peninsula with a mission to enable rowing for all, inspiring wellness and fostering community. Rowing is where we started and it stays at our heart. Around it we've built RSX, our gym; Recovery, with sauna, ice bath and dry float; Easy Oar, our cafe; and a lakeside events space.

About the role

This is the role that makes Red Shed run.

You're the face people see when they walk through the door, and you're also the person who owns the systems humming away behind it. Memberships, fobs, bookings, the front desk, the platforms we rely on, the contractors who keep the building right. When those things work, nobody notices. When they don't, everybody does.

It's hands-on with real ownership. You won't be managing a team and you won't be writing strategy documents. You'll be running the operational engine of a growing organisation and making it better every week.

What you'll own

Front of house and member administration. Greeting members and visitors, sign-ups, fobs, tours, enquiries by phone, email and in person, bookings across rowing, gym, recovery and events, and merchandise.

Systems and technology. MindBody and our branded app, Protege, the fob and door integration, Tripleseat, Square, SharePoint and Canva. You own these. You keep the data clean, you fix what breaks, you train the team and you document how it all works.

Facility coordination. Owning the maintenance schedule, running a daily walk-through, booking and following up contractors and volunteers, and closing issues out.





Across all three, we want you using AI to improve things and make them more efficient wherever possible, and we want you proactive about it. Work smarter, not harder. We still work hard here, we just want to be smart about it.

Who we're looking for

You're really smart, strategic and sharp. You're learning and open to using AI for everything possible.

You're a serious admin gun who takes genuine ownership. You spot what needs doing and you do it, without being chased and without waiting to be asked twice. You finish things.

You're properly good with technology, warm with people, and unflappable when three things need you at once.

You care about the mission. This is a not-for-profit and everyone pitches in.

This role suits a doer, not a thinker. If your strength is ideas and plans rather than getting things across the line, this isn't the one. If you get satisfaction from a well-run operation, a clean system and a member who leaves happy, read on.
