About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cafe Assistant Manager to join our team at the Coolangatta Surf Club in Coolangatta, QLD. In this full-time salaried role, you will play a pivotal part in the day-to-day operations of our busy cafe, Board Short Barista assisting the Cafe Manager in ensuring efficient and exceptional customer service.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting the Cafe Manager in overseeing all cafe operations, including staff rostering, stock control, and cash management.
- Providing exceptional customer service and managing customer inquiries and complaints
- Ensuring the cafe's high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation are maintained
- Providing hands-on support in the cafe, including barista duties, food preparation, and serving customers
- Coaching and mentoring the cafe's team of Baristas and Cafe Assistants
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as stock ordering, invoicing, and reporting

What we're looking for

- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar cafe assistant manager or supervisory role




- Strong customer service skills and the ability to provide a welcoming and efficient cafe experience
- Excellent barista skills and experience in food preparation
- Demonstrated experience in staff management and coaching
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
