SMS Mining Services provides contract mining, equipment rental and maintenance services to major and mid-tier miners across Australia. We see significant opportunity across Queensland and New South Wales and are investing in the leadership and presence required to capture it.

We’ve established our Brisbane office on Eagle Street and are now looking for the leader who will build our Eastern Region business from that platform.

This is a newly created General Manager role, reporting to our Chief Operating Officer. Initially, the focus is on market development: building senior relationships with major and mid-tier mining customers across the region, developing those relationships into a sustainable pipeline, and working with our operational and functional leaders to shape opportunities we can deliver safely, commercially and successfully. As SMS’s Eastern Region presence grows, the role is expected to evolve into broader regional leadership, including people, business performance and operational coordination.

What you’ll bring:

- Established,



credible relationships with major and mid-tier miners in Queensland and Current South Wales
- A demonstrated track record of developing opportunities and growing businesses within mining services, equipment rental, maintenance or a related sector
- Credibility operating at General Manager or senior executive level with Tier 1 and Tier 2 miners
- The initiative and resilience to build a regional business from an established national platform
- A genuine, personal commitment to safety leadership, not just compliance
- Commercial acumen and the judgement to shape deals SMS can actually deliver

Based in Brisbane, engaging with customers across Queensland and New South Wales.
