Our client is supporting a cloud provider and Defence Program. They're seeking an experienced Senior Security Assessor to join an embedded security assurance team. The successful candidate will work closely with Defence and project stakeholders to develop the security documentation required to support assessment, authorisation and approval of cloud products for Defence use.
Job Description
The Senior Security Assessor supports the client by producing the security documentation required for Defence assessment and approval processes. Working within an embedded team environment, you will be responsible for developing technical assurance and security artefacts, engaging with key stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with Defence security frameworks and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide cyber security and assurance advisory services to the client and project team.
- Scope, plan and produce security and technical assurance documentation required for assessment and authorisation activities.
- Prepare technical assurance and system security documentation for systems within scope.
- Translate technical, engineering and operational information into structured security documentation suitable for accreditation authorities and senior decision-makers.
- Deliver assigned documentation in accordance with agreed milestones and schedules.
- Maintain evidence traceability and control mapping against Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM) requirements.
- Escalate risks, gaps or schedule impacts to project leadership.
- Engage with client engineering teams, project management teams, CISO functions,
delivery partners and Defence stakeholders to develop and validate documentation.
Knowledge/Skills required
- Cyber security assurance and advisory experience.
- Experience producing technical assurance and system security documentation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into security documentation suitable for Defence accreditation processes.
- Understanding of Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM) requirements.
- Experience working with Defence security and assurance processes.
- Strong documentation, planning and organisational skills.
