Opportunity Available!

WCA Solutions is growing and we're looking for an experienced Human Resource Lead to step into a pivotal leadership role within our HR Advisory practice. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing consulting team, shape the quality and capability of our HR practice, and maintain your own active consulting contribution across a diverse client portfolio. If you're ready to lead people, and protect quality, we'd love to hear from you.

Welcome to WCA Solutions:

WCA Solutions is one of Western Australia's leading outsourced Human Resources (HR) and Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) consulting firms. We partner with clients across mining, construction, government, Aboriginal corporations, not-for-profit, professional services and beyond, delivering practical and tailored HR and safety solutions that help organisations attract, retain and lead their people well. Our team consists of experienced HR and WHS professionals committed to helping organisations mitigate risk and optimise their people management practices.

A Different Kind of HR Role:

This isn't a traditional people management role. As Practice Lead, you'll be the operational leader of our HR Advisory practice and the link between our Directors and HR consulting team. You'll coach and develop our HR consultants, uphold service quality across client engagement, coordinate delivery across a diverse HR portfolio, and continue to apply your own technical expertise on client work. Your role is to make sure the WCA Solutions HR consultants thrive, clients receive exceptional service, and the practice can scale without placing unnecessary demands on the Directors.

And because you'll work across a wide range of clients and industries, no two weeks look the same. You'll build trusted client relationships and play a direct role in shaping the future of WCA's HR Advisory practice.

About the Role:

- Lead the HR Advisory practice as the primary operational and people leader, serving as the first point of contact between Directors and the consulting team.
- Provide day-to-day coaching, mentoring and technical oversight to HR consultants, supporting their performance, development and career progression.
- Maintain technical standards and quality assurance across all client deliverables, reviewing work and setting the bar for how we advise clients.
- Coordinate workforce planning, resource allocation and workload balancing across the client portfolio.
- Act as the first-line escalation point for complex or sensitive client HR matters before escalation to the Managing Director.
- Oversee team utilisation, productivity, delivery performance and project budget tracking.
- Support commercial Director with bespoke project budget estimation.
- Lead HR practice meetings, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and methodology development.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and capability development of new team members.
- Contribute to proposals, thought leadership and service innovation.
- Ensure compliance with WCA Solutions quality systems, project management standards and consulting methodologies.
- Maintain an active billable consulting contribution of at least 50%, delivering across client projects, case management and retained managed services.
- Foster a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism and client service excellence within the team.

What You'll Bring

You are a senior HR qualified who:

- Brings broad generalist HR expertise across the full employee lifecycle, including IR, ER, performance management, change and workforce planning.
- Has a genuine interest in leading, mentoring and developing other HR professionals and enjoys being the go-to for the team.
- Is confident advising client leadership teams and stepping into complex, high-risk HR matters.
- Understands how to translate the Fair Work Act and Australian employment legislation into practical workplace solutions.

- Has experience managing workload, priorities and delivery across multiple clients or business units simultaneously.
- Thrives in a consulting environment where client needs, industries and challenges shift regularly.
- Brings a quality-focused, accountable and cooperative approach to leadership and client service.

Requirements:

- Minimum 7+ years' generalist HR experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead HR role.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading, supervising or formally mentoring other HR professionals.
- Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Australian employment legislation.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex industrial relations/employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management and disciplinary processes.
- Proven ability to deliver HR strategy and operational HR across multiple client environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including providing advice to senior stakeholders and preparing reports for target audiences.
- Consulting, multi-site or multi-client HR experience highly regarded.
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia.

What We Offer:

- Competitive remuneration and genuine leadership opportunities within a growing consulting practice.
- A great team in a supportive, welcoming and friendly work environment.
- Free shared parking and convenient access to public transport
- Protected non-billable time to lead your team, plan work, coach consultants and coordinate delivery.
- A modern, centrally located office in West Perth.
- Career advancement opportunities and the chance to shape the future of WCA's HR Advisory practice.
- Exposure to a wide range of industries and organisational environments most in-house HR leaders never access.

Why Join Us?

This is a genuine opportunity to step into a leadership role where your expertise directly shapes a practice, a team and the outcomes our clients achieve. You'll bring your best technical HR work to some of WA's most interesting and varied organisations, while building a team that delivers exceptional consulting. If you're ready to lead from the front and grow alongside a team of highly respected HR and safety professionals who care deeply about doing work that matters, we'd love to hear from you.
