Manning Support Services (MSS) is an award-winning community service organisation that has been operating on the NSW Mid North Coast for more than 40 years. MSS is a multi-service not-for-profit, with a mission to enhance the quality of people’s lives by providing services which enable them to live with dignity and respect.
Due to expansion of our NDIS service, MSS has positions available to join our pool of Disability Support Workers in the Taree and Gloucester area.
The role involves transporting, supervising and mentoring children, young people and adults or their parents in day to day living tasks in the home and in the community. The Disability Support Worker is responsible for the care and safety of the participant while assisting with a range of activities during the supports. This role may also involve providing day or overnight support/respite either in the family home, community or motel accommodation.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Certificate III in Community Services, Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent (desirable)
- Current NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)
- Completion of NDIS worker training modules
- Knowledge of child protection practices and mandatory reporting guidelines
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Current employee Working with Children Check
- Current National Criminal History Check, or willing to get one
- Current full NSW driver's licence
- Use of a reliable and suitable personal vehicle,
with anchor points for child seat restraints. Vehicle must have current NSW registration and minimum third-party property damage insurance.
- Use of a smart phone and a computer with internet access
- Ability to write objective, accurate and concise case notes
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word) skills
