The Maleny State School P&C; Association are committed to providing children with quality learning opportunities delivered in a safe, secure and stimulating environment, while aspiring to deliver the highest standard of care. Our school averages approximately 400 enrolments and our OSHC is licensed for 80 places for Before School, After School and Vacation Care. We are committed to being a Child Safe Organisation and embedding the National Child Safe Principles and providing an environment that ensures cultural safety.
Our OSHC is owned and operated by the Maleny State School P&C; Association. This is an existing OSHC service that opened in July 2022 and is managed by the P&C; association.
The service operates from a stand-alone and purpose-built space with close proximity to the hall, large playgrounds and other school facilities. This is an excellent chance to join the team and continue to establish Maleny OSHC.
The Role
We believe each member of the team contributes equally to the quality of the service. This role offers growth potential, with the opportunity to advance to Assistant Director for the right candidate. Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- planning and delivering programs with a high level of student and family input
- working closely with other Educators to provide protected and exciting learning environments and activities to meet the needs of school-aged children
- communicating openly, honestly and with accuracy to all members of the OSHC community
- completion of checklists and audits to ensure a safe and healthy environment
- adhering to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework, laws and regulations.
- ensuring a risk management approach to safety is implemented
- preparing and serving healthy meals
- maintaining a high standard of health and hygiene
- supervising children both at the service and on excursions
Skills and Experience
All members of this team must demonstrate:
- A 2-year recognised qualification by ACECQA (Diploma or equivalent) or studying towards.
- a positive outlook to life and a problem-solving approach to success
- commitment to outstanding customer service
- previous experience with children in OSHC
- excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- an understanding of the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place learning framework
- a commitment to embedding the National Child Safe Principles and Universal Principle
- the ability to support other Educators to be their best
- working in a team environment
- ACECQA approved qualifications for working in OSHC
- Positive Notice Blue Card, First Aid, CPR and Asthma/Anaphylaxis qualifications
