Hale School is Western Australia's oldest independent boys' school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48-hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.
Hale School is seeking applications from dynamic, enthusiastic, experienced and well-qualified teachers to fill this significant leadership position. The Head of Art is a key role in the School, providing effective leadership of the Art Department and with responsibility for establishing the highest standards of Art learning and practice across Years 7 to 12.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
exemplary teaching of Art, with experience of, or capacity for, teaching Year 12 Visual Arts (ATAR)
a willingness to pursue avenues, within and beyond the classroom curriculum, that enhance boys’ engagement in, appreciation for, and capacity to produce art
the capacity to lead and motivate others
the ability to communicate effectively
the ability to relate well to students, staff and parents
a strong work ethic
knowledge of, and interest in, developments in Art education
proven ability to effectively utilise technology in the classroom
proven ability to work as a member of a team
an understanding of, and empathy for, the learning needs and social, emotional and spiritual development of boys
a firm commitment to independent schooling and a willingness to support the School’s values and Anglican traditions.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Hold appropriate teaching qualifications.
Have current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) or be eligible for registration.
Have a current Working with Children check.
