We are seeking an experienced Delicatessen Manager to join Spano Holdings Pty Ltd on a full-time basis at our Mermaid Waters location in Queensland. This is a key management position within our retail operations, where you will oversee the day-to-day running of our delicatessen department, ensuring excellent customer service, product quality, and team performance. The Delicatessen Manager plays a vital role in driving sales, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, and creating a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Key responsibilities
- Managing and supervising the delicatessen team, including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management
- Overseeing inventory management, stock rotation and ordering of delicatessen products to minimise waste and ensure product freshness
- Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and health standards in compliance with relevant legislation and company policies
- Preparing and serving quality delicatessen products, including slicing, packaging and presentation to customer specifications
- Driving sales performance and profitability of the delicatessen department through effective merchandising and customer engagement
- Managing customer complaints and resolving issues professionally to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the delicatessen area, including equipment maintenance and stock displays
- Communicating effectively with management and other departments to ensure smooth operations
- Implementing promotional activities and product knowledge to maximise sales opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with all company procedures, policies and statutory requirements
What we're looking for
- Proven experience working as a delicatessen manager or in a similar supervisory role within a retail environment
- Strong knowledge of delicatessen products,
food preparation techniques and food safety standards
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to delivering a positive shopping experience
- Sound understanding of inventory management, stock control and cost management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail workplace and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and high standards of personal hygiene
- Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays as required
- Current or willingness to obtain relevant food handling qualifications and certifications
