About the Role

We are seeking a talented Double Bass and Electric Bass Guitar Instrumental Teacher to join our Music Performance program.

This casual position, reporting to the Head of Music Performance (Co-curricular), involves delivering lessons to students from Year 2 to Year 12, currently 2 hours per week. This is subject to change.

The Instrumental Teacher is responsible for inspiring, enthusing and guiding students through the study, practice and performance of music. The successful applicant will create an environment of active and genuine learning by employing a range of tutoring strategies that meet the needs of all students, and deliver innovative, contemporary and engaging learning experiences to enable each girl to be the best that she can be.

We are looking for a teacher who can meet beginners with patience and extend advanced players with rigour, while making music making genuinely enjoyable.

About You

- Appropriate qualifications, suitable experience and a background relevant to the role




- Demonstrated experience delivering instrumental tuition on double bass and/or electric bass guitar to students of varying ages and ability levels
- Demonstrated experience as an inspirational coach, with high level qualified knowledge of coaching and learning
- Ability to prepare students as soloists and ensemble members for performances and examinations
- Outstanding organisational and planning skills, including accurate record keeping of achievement and attendance
