Senior Microvellum Drafter / Joinery Detailer

Elm Commercial Joinery is a Melbourne-based commercial joinery manufacturer operating from our modern facility in Officer South .

We're looking for an experienced Senior Microvellum Drafter / Joinery Detailer to join our core team and take commercial joinery projects from architectural documentation through shop drawings, client coordination and production-ready Microvellum detailing .

This is a senior role for someone who understands not only how to detail joinery, but how it will be manufactured and installed .

The Role

- Review architectural drawings, specifications and joinery schedules

- Produce accurate commercial joinery shop drawings in Microvellum

- Prepare projects for CNC-based manufacturing and production

- Develop plans, elevations, sections, set-outs and construction details

- Identify discrepancies, constructability issues and missing information before production

- Prepare and manage RFIs, drawing revisions and consultant comments

- Attend project meetings and page-turn/shop drawing reviews with builders, architects and consultants

- Communicate directly with clients on drafting, detailing and technical matters

- Coordinate closely with our factory and site team to resolve manufacturing and installation issues

- Assist in developing and improving our Microvellum libraries and drafting standards

- Support junior drafting staff as the team grows

About You





We're looking for someone with:

- Minimum 5 years' experience in joinery drafting/detailing, preferably commercial joinery

- Strong, recent hands-on Microvellum experience

- Ability to independently take a joinery package from architectural drawings through shop drawings and into production

- Strong understanding of commercial joinery construction, materials, hardware and manufacturing

- Understanding of CNC-based production

- Confidence dealing with builders, architects and consultants

- Ability to identify problems early and find practical solutions

- Strong attention to detail, dimensions and revisions

- Good communication and organisational skills

- Australian working rights

Experience with commercial fit-outs, offices, schools, healthcare or laboratory joinery will be highly regarded.
