Lifeline has been operating in Tasmania since 1973, commencing as two chapters (Lifeline North West and Lifeline Hobart) which merged in 2012 to form Lifeline Tasmania, we are now a single organisation incorporated in Tasmania, with state-wide reach and community connections.

The Opportunity
With over 300 volunteers statewide our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, providing the skills and support to drive our vision of a resilient Tasmania free of suicide.
We are looking for our new Volunteer and Student Placement Coordinator to create a welcoming and engaging experience at Lifeline Tasmania,
to ensure our volunteers and students are well supported in making a meaningful difference to our community right from the start.
Building and nurturing partnerships with internal teams, education providers and community organisations, and strengthening our placement pathways, our Volunteer and Student Placement Coordinator will coordinate and continuously improve volunteer and student placement processes, ensuring people are thoughtfully matched to roles where they can contribute meaningfully.
This position will monitor program effectiveness, gather valuable feedback, and actively shape our volunteer and student engagement strategies, whilst being the Volunteer Advisory Committee champion, ensuring the volunteer voice remains at the heart of everything we do.
This role is all about making sure the people who give their time feel valued, supported, and perfectly placed to make a real difference from day one!
About You
To be considered for this position you will have:
- High-level interpersonal and relationship management skills to build networks both within and external to the organisation.
- A demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and use databases or CRM systems to support compliance, reporting and workforce planning.
- A demonstrated understanding of volunteer engagement principles, including attraction, onboarding, recognition and retention.
- Sound understanding of confidentiality, privacy and duty-of-care obligations when working with volunteers, students and vulnerable people
- The ability to work collaboratively with others whilst also working autonomously, showing initiative and applying sound decision-making skills.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards or insights to support volunteer engagement and workforce planning.
- The ability to develop goals and plans; allocate resources accordingly and prioritise work to meet deadlines and objectives.
- A Minimum of three years' experience coordinating, supporting or supervising volunteers and/or students across onboarding, placement, engagement and retention activities.
