This is a permanent full-time position commencing October 2026.
The Student Engagement and Wellbeing Directorate implements system strategies and priorities to improve the engagement and wellbeing of students and delivers qualified learning initiatives and resources for schools to strengthen the capability of the profession.
The Road Safety and Drug Education branch delivers specialised prevention education to keep children and young people safe. The programs are designed to contribute to the reduction of road related injury and harm from alcohol and other drug use. Its education strategies and resources are designed to build the capacity of teachers and schools to implement evidence-based school alcohol and other drug and road safety education programs.

The Role
The successful applicant will assist with planning, implementation and evaluation of drug and road safety education programs. You will collaborate and liaise with school leaders, government and non-government agencies to support schools to deliver road safety and drug education programs across the state. The position will be located in the Goldfields, and part time requests may be considered.
The coordinator will provide access to practical support, professional learning and resources with a focus on road safety and drug education. You will work with members of other teams in Statewide Services on shared priorities and initiatives to deliver integrated services and support to schools across the state.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- be an Australian or Recent Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
- hold and maintain a current ‘C’ class drivers’ licence
- undertake travel throughout the state, including overnight stays in metropolitan and non metropolitan locations and travelling in small aeroplanes to remote locations, as required
