About The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Team at North Eastern Community Hospital in Campbelltown, South Australia. This role provides support for our overall finance and payroll operations across our Hospital, Aged Care, and Corporate divisions. The role reports directly to the Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities:

- Assist with monthly and year-end financial reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports, management reports, and financial statements.

- Prepare Aged Care Quarterly and Annual Financial Reports for review and approval.

- Prepare Quarterly Aged Care Surveys for review and approval.

- Assist with preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports.

- Maintain the fixed asset register within the finance system, including asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.

- Provide payroll support and backfill for the Payroll Officer role as required.

- Participate in finance system, process improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Support Accounts and Finance Officers with day-to-day accounting and finance functions, as required.

- Provide assistance with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and projects as directed by the Finance Manager.

Essential Criteria:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

- Currently studying towards, or completed, a professional accounting qualification such as CPA Australia or CA ANZ.

- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar accounting or financial role.





- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.

- High level of attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy when working with financial data.

- Proficiency in accounting/finance systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

- Robust organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff across different areas of the organisation.

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and working independently.

- Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and maintaining current accounting knowledge.

- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and professional standards.

A National Police Check, Working With Children Check and current vaccination compliance are required before you start.

Desirable Criteria:

- Experience with Aged Care financial reporting and regulatory requirements.

- Experience with Aged Care Quarterly Surveys and related reporting requirements.

- Experience with payroll processing and/or providing payroll backfill support.

- Experience with fixed asset management and accounting.





- Experience using accounting or finance systems commonly used in health or aged care organisations.

- CPA qualified (or close to completion).
