About the role
We are seeking two people to join a strongly backed mineral exploration program in the Bendoc region of Victoria:
- 1 x Trainee Driller – capable of covering the Senior Driller when required
- 1 x Drilling Offsider – previous drilling experience not essential, but highly regarded
This is an opportunity to join a small drilling crew working on a well-supported exploration program with no unnecessary micromanagement. The crew will be supported by two geologists and a Project Manager, providing a good environment to develop your drilling skills and take on additional responsibility.
The program will involve surface exploration diamond drilling to depths of approximately 300m, including downhole surveying, using a Hanjin D&B10;.
1 x Trainee Driller
The Trainee Driller will work closely with the Senior Driller and will be expected to have the skills and knowledge required to operate the rig and cover the Senior Driller when required.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous diamond drilling experience, with strong relevant practical/mechanical experience
- Has good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- Can operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Can think ahead and work autonomously
- Has a strong understanding of safe work practices
- Is physically fit and comfortable working in a remote exploration environment
- Can work effectively as part of a small crew
- Holds a current Manual Driver Licence (HR Licence – preferred but not essential)
- Holds First Aid – or willing to obtain prior to commencement
- Has Australian working rights
- Can pass a National Police Check, medical and drug & alcohol screening
The ability and willingness to step up and cover the Senior Driller when required is an important part of this role.
1 x Diamond Drilling Offsider
The Offsider role is suitable for someone looking to get into the diamond drilling industry or expand on previous drilling experience.
We are particularly interested in applicants with a mechanical or practical background. Mechanics, diesel mechanics, fitters, machinery operators, agricultural/mechanical workers and similar applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is keen to learn and develop a career in diamond drilling
- Has solid mechanical aptitude
- Is practical and enjoys working with machinery and equipment
- Has good problem-solving skills
- Is physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work outdoors
- Has a strong focus on safety
- Can listen, learn and take direction
- Is reliable and willing to work hard as part of a small crew
- Holds a current Manual Driver Licence (HR Licence – preferred but not essential)
- Has Australian working rights
- Can pass a National Police Check, medical and drug & alcohol screening
No previous diamond drilling experience is required for the Offsider position.

You will work as part of a four-person drilling crew:
- Senior Driller
- Trainee Driller
- Offsider
- Labourer
The crew will be supported by two geologists and a Project Manager.
