Shelly Beach Golf Club is located at Shelly Beach on the Central Coast of NSW, 1 hour north of Sydney. Shelly Beach Golf Club is an 18-hole facility with practice facilities. The greens are a mix of Poa annua/Bentgrass and the remainder of the course is Kikuyu.
The club is seeking a motivated, qualified greenkeeper for the position of 3IC. The applicant must be at a level so that he/she understands every facet of the golf green keeping industry.
Primary Objective: -
Assist Course Superintendent and Assistant in achieving our aim:
Our Aim is to ensure that Shelly Beach Golf Club is the ultimate destination venue for everyone in the Central Coast Region and beyond, who seeks excellence in customer service, golfing experience, entertainment, food and beverage.
Accountability:
- The successful applicant is accountable to the Course Superintendent in all aspects of his/her work.
Responsibilities:
- To carry out maintenance programmes developed by the Course Superintendent
- Delegate work at times to the Maintenance Staff under the guidance of the Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
- Supervise the quality of work performed by ground staff to ensure the best possible standards at all times.
- Report any problems associated with turf surfaces to the Course Superintendent i.e. disease incidence etc.
- To apply pesticides and fertilizers as per the Course Superintendents policies.
- Scheduling of irrigation as and when required to ensure high standards are maintained.
- At times, prepare job lists in regard to the maintenance of Shelly Beach Golf Club.
- Required to work rostered weekends.
- Conduct yourself in a thorough, competent and skilled manner at all times.
- To be polite and courteous to all members and guests at all times.
Key Communication Responsibilities:
The 3IC will communicate verbally to the Course Superintendent and or Assistant Superintendent on a daily basis regarding:
- Level 3 TAFE Qualification as a minimum requirement.
- Chem Cert Accreditation or equivalent for Use and Storage of Pesticides an advantage.
Knowledge/Skills:
- The applicant has to be competent in all areas of golf course maintenance.
Experience:
- The 3IC has to have a minimum of 4 years' experience in the turf industry.
