A great opportunity for a Payroll / HR Remediation Specialist to join a growing organisation on an initial 3–4 month fixed-term contract, supporting a payroll compliance remediation project. This role is suited to someone who can move beyond identifying payroll issues and lead the analysis, quantification and remediation through to a defensible outcome.
About the role:
- Review and validate payroll compliance findings across multiple entities
- Analyse up to six years of payroll data to identify and quantify potential underpayments
- Calculate underpayments, including superannuation and interest components
- Interpret Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment contracts
- Assess obligations under the Fair Work Act and Superannuation Guarantee legislation
- Develop remediation and back-payment calculation methodologies
- Identify payroll system configuration issues contributing to incorrect payments
- Work with payroll and systems teams to validate corrected configurations
- Maintain detailed remediation registers, documentation and audit trails
- Partner with HRBPs and senior leaders to ensure remediation is accurately implemented
About you:
- Proven experience delivering payroll compliance remediation / underpayment projects
- Strong knowledge of Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Robust understanding of superannuation compliance and underpayments
- Experience designing and validating back-payment calculations
- Practical understanding of payroll systems and configuration
- The ability to analyse large, complex payroll datasets
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to communicate complex issues to senior leaders
- High levels of discretion and attention to detail
