About the role

This role plays a key part in delivering the high standard TL is known for. It’s a varied role that will see you responsible for constructing, modifying and repairing heavy vehicle bodies, ensuring our vehicles meet safety standards and customer specifications to maintain our reputation in the industry.

- Build and assemble heavy vehicle bodies, including truck bodies and parts, subframes and assemblies following detailed specifications and drawings

- Fit and secure subframes, trays, body accessories, and other structural elements, including cranes at times

- Fabricate body parts using various materials,



including metal and composite materials

- Perform cutting, shaping, and welding of metals and other materials to create vehicle bodies, using hand tools and power tools

- Diagnose structural issues and perform necessary repairs, ensuring optimal functionality and appearance

- Customise and modify vehicle bodies to meet specific client requirements

- Inspect completed vehicle bodies to ensure they meet quality and safety standards

About you

We’re looking for someone who cares about their work and wants to be part of a team that does things properly.

The ideal addition to our team will likely:

- Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding, fabrication, or automotive body building (preferred)

- Proven experience as an HV Fabricator in the heavy vehicle industry

- Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication techniques

- Strong knowledge of vehicle body construction, repair, and customisation

- Ability to read and interpret plans, technical drawings, and specifications

- Skilled in using various hand and power tools associated with vehicle fabrication and body building

- Understanding of safe workshop practices and commitment to WHS standards

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work – this is not the place for shortcuts





- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously

- Solid communication skills and a customer-focused attitude

- Take pride in quality and attention to detail

- Respect your teammates and the work they do
