The Ouyen Club is looking for an experienced, hands-on Venue Manager to lead our team and oversee the day-to-day running of the Club.
We’re after someone with fresh ideas, a positive attitude and solid hospitality or gaming experience who enjoys working with people and isn’t afraid to get involved on the floor.
The Ouyen Club is an important part of our local community, and we’re looking for a Manager who can keep the venue running smoothly, support our team, deliver a great experience for members and guests, and help us continue to grow and improve.
About the Role
As Venue Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Club and play an important role in supporting our staff, members and guests.
This is a hands-on role, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable managing the operational side of the venue while also being present on the floor, supporting the team and stepping in when needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing daily gaming and bar operations
- Leading, supporting, training and developing staff
- Preparing staff and raffle rosters and managing staffing requirements
- Recruiting and onboarding new team members when required
- Maintaining gaming, liquor and WHS compliance
- Delivering a high standard of customer service and resolving issues as they arise
- Managing cash handling, banking, stock control and associated records
- Monitoring labour costs and day-to-day operating requirements
- Maintaining high standards of venue presentation and coordinating maintenance as required
- Coordinating functions, events, raffles and promotions
- Supporting and growing the Club's existing activities and social events
- Bringing fresh ideas for new events, activities and ways to attract people to the Club
- Building positive relationships with members, guests and the wider community
- Identifying opportunities to improve,
promote and grow the Club
- Keeping the General Committee informed through regular reporting and communication
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has venue management or senior supervisory experience in hospitality or gaming
- Is a confident, approachable and supportive leader
- Has a positive understanding of gaming and liquor compliance
- Is organised and comfortable managing competing priorities
- Takes a hands-on approach and is happy to lead from the floor
- Has strong customer service and communication skills
- Brings initiative, enthusiasm and fresh ideas
- Is keen to build on what the Club already offers and introduce new activities and events
- Enjoys getting involved with members and the local community
- Wants to play an active part in the Club's future and continued growth
What You'll Need
- Current RSG
- Current RSA
- Appropriate Victorian gaming licence/approval
- Keno accreditation is advantageous but not essential

- Flexible working hours
- No Sunday work
- Occasional Saturdays to cover staff when required
- Occasional Friday nights to assist with raffles
