Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten/Years 1-6 | Full-time, Part-time and fixed-term opportunities.

Great Southern Grammar is growing its 2027 Primary teaching team and invites applications from passionate Early Childhood and Primary teachers who combine excellent classroom practice with genuine care for every child.

We are building a flexible candidate pool across Pre-Kindergarten (Djinda)/Kindergarten and Years 1 – 6. Depending on School need, workforce design, candidate expertise and mutual discussion, appointments may be full-time or part-time and ongoing or fixed term. Teachers who can contribute confidently across more than one year level are warmly encouraged to apply.

Our teaching areas

- Pre-Kindergarten (Djinda) and Kindergarten: Early Childhood teachers who create warm, intentional and play-rich learning environments in which young children feel known, secure and ready to explore.
- Years 1 – 6: skilled Primary teachers who can build strong foundations, extend curiosity and confidence and respond thoughtfully to the changing learning and developmental needs of children across the Primary years.

The opportunity

You will design and deliver engaging, evidence-informed learning; use assessment and feedback to support progress; maintain a protected and purposeful classroom; and contribute to the pastoral and wider life of the School. You will work in partnership with colleagues and families so students experience consistency, challenge and care.

- Plan and deliver inclusive learning that responds to student strengths, needs and developmental stages.
- Use assessment, observation and feedback to understand progress and refine teaching.
- Build a calm, safe and purposeful classroom culture in which every child feels known and able to participate.
- Work closely with colleagues on curriculum, moderation, transition and student support.




- Build constructive partnerships with families through clear, respectful communication.
- Contribute positively to the pastoral, skilled and wider community life of the School.

What you will bring

- Appropriate teaching qualifications and current or provisional TRBWA registration, or eligibility to obtain registration before commencement.
- For Pre-Kindergarten (Djinda)/Kindergarten appointments, an ACECQA-recognised Early Childhood Teacher qualification and sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standard and relevant Western Australian curriculum guidance.
- Strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to plan, teach, assess and refine inclusive learning programs.
- A clear commitment to literacy, numeracy, student wellbeing, positive behaviour and differentiated learning.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, colleagues and families.
- A collaborative, reflective and flexible approach, with a clear commitment to child safety and the values of the School.
- A Working with Children Check, satisfactory National Police History Check, valid First Aid certification and mandatory-reporting training, or capacity to satisfy these requirements before commencement.
