Assistant Store Operations Manager | Specialty Food Retail

Our growing, community-rooted specialty food retailer is looking for a hands-on operations leader to serve as second-in-command of a dynamic, full-service store. You'll partner with the Store Director to drive daily performance across every department, develop a strong team, and deliver a guest experience that sets this concept apart.

What You'll Do

Own daily performance across a multi-department store operation, from the sales floor to the back of house. Lead and develop department managers and their teams through consistent coaching, feedback, and accountability. Monitor the metrics that matter: sales, labor, shrink, inventory, and cost controls.



Set and hold the standard on merchandising, freshness, sanitation, and guest experience. Handle opening and closing responsibilities and step into the store director role when needed. Partner with HR, marketing, and operations on storewide initiatives and ensure full compliance with food safety, OSHA, and loss prevention standards.

What You Bring

- 3+ years of supervisory or assistant management experience in grocery, food retail, or hospitality
- Solid working knowledge of retail operations, scheduling, payroll, and inventory management
- Strong coaching and accountability skills in a fast-paced environment
- ServSafe Manager Certification or ability to obtain
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays

This is a physically active, floor-based role. Expect frequent walking, standing, lifting, and working across multiple department environments including refrigerated and kitchen areas.
