Great Southern Grammar is growing its 2027 Secondary teaching team and invites applications from excellent teachers in English/Humanities & Social Sciences.

We are looking for teachers with strong subject knowledge, high expectations and the ability to help young people connect rigorous learning with purpose. Applicants should possess the ability to bring ideas, evidence, place and contemporary issues to life across relevant year levels and courses.

The opportunity

You will plan and deliver challenging, inclusive learning; use assessment and feedback to improve progress; create a safe and purposeful classroom; and contribute to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the School. You will collaborate on curriculum, moderation and student support and build constructive partnerships with students and families.

- Design well-sequenced learning that develops knowledge, skills, curiosity and confidence.
- Use assessment and feedback purposefully and support students with varied learning needs and aspirations.
- Create a safe, respectful and academically purposeful classroom culture.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, moderation, student support and professional practice.
- Contribute to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the Secondary School and the wider GSG community.

What you will bring

- Appropriate teaching qualifications and current or provisional TRBWA registration, or eligibility to obtain registration before commencement.
- Strong knowledge of the Western Australian curriculum and, where relevant, WACE course requirements, assessment and moderation.




- The ability to plan, teach, assess and refine engaging programs that support diverse learners and high achievement.
- A commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion, academic growth and safe, respectful learning environments.
- Robust interpersonal and communication skills and a professional approach to colleagues, students, families and the wider community.
- A collaborative, reflective and flexible approach, with a clear commitment to child safety and the values of the School.
- A Working with Children Check, satisfactory National Police History Check, valid First Aid certification and mandatory-reporting training, or capacity to satisfy these requirements before commencement.

Experienced teachers and strong early-career teachers are encouraged to apply. Senior course experience will be considered in relation to the needs of each appointment.
