The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city’s public transport network.
The Principal Engagement Officer leads the day- to-day delivery of community and stakeholder engagement for DIT across a selection of projects, programs and initiatives. They provide leadership and advice, playing a key role in ensuring communities and stakeholders are meaningfully engaged, and DIT objectives are successfully delivered.
The role requires a high level of political acumen, leading engagement on often complex and sensitive projects. Leveraging their extensive experience in driving engagement, they are adept at identifying engagement risks and opportunities and applying effective engagement strategies.
With an ability to effectively lead the day-to-day management of a small team of engagement resources and engagement consultants, as well work concurrently across multiple projects, the Principal Engagement Officer is a strategic thinker who can problem solve and influence outcomes.
The Principal Engagement Officer works collaboratively with other directorates and effectively manage external engagement consultants to ensure outcomes are delivered.
Educational Qualifications / Licences
- The Engagement Institute (formally IAP2) qualifications are desirable.
- Formal relevant qualifications and/or
- Significant experience in stakeholder engagement on infrastructure, asset and/or transport related projects.
Special Conditions
- A National Police Check (NPC)
is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
- A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
- Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required
Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to twelve (12) months.
Remuneration
ASO7 - $116,089 to $125,490 pa + superannuation.
