The Company
We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded South Australian hospitality venue that has recently undergone significant investment and redevelopment. Renowned for delivering exceptional dining experiences, premium functions, and outstanding customer service, this venue offers multiple dining spaces, a busy events calendar, and a modern kitchen focused on quality, consistency, and innovation. From casual dining through to large-scale weddings, corporate events and celebrations, no two days are the same.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to lead a passionate kitchen team within a rapid-paced, high-volume operation. You'll take ownership of all kitchen operations, driving food quality, team performance and financial outcomes while maintaining exceptional standards across every service.
Working closely with senior venue leadership, you'll have the opportunity to influence menus, develop your team and play a key role in the continued success of one of Adelaide's leading hospitality destinations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing kitchen brigade.
- Oversee all daily kitchen operations across à la carte dining and functions.
- Design seasonal menus that balance creativity, quality and profitability.
- Manage food costs, GP targets, stock control and supplier relationships.
- Maintain exceptional food presentation and consistency.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, HACCP and WHS requirements.
- Recruit, train and develop kitchen staff.
- Prepare rosters and manage labour costs effectively.
- Work collaboratively with venue management to deliver outstanding guest experiences. Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment.
Skills & Attributes
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume hospitality venue.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop,
motivate and retain kitchen teams.
- Excellent knowledge of food costing, stock control, labour management and kitchen budgets.
- Sound understanding of food safety, HACCP and workplace health & safety compliance.
- Calm, organised and hands-on approach with the ability to perform under pressure.
