Description
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the successful WorkCover Payroll Specialist will be responsible for:
- Process workers' compensation payments in line with relevant legislation, payroll frameworks and organisational policies.
- Calculate and administer employee entitlements, earnings adjustments and compensation-related payroll transactions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support compensation and return-to-work processes.
- Interpret payroll conditions, industrial instruments and employee entitlements to ensure accurate outcomes.
- Prepare payroll reconciliations, reporting and data analysis to support compliance and financial requirements.
- Maintain accurate payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
- Respond to stakeholder enquiries and provide guidance on workers' compensation payroll matters.
- Contribute to payroll process improvements and support continuous enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure all activities are completed within required payroll deadlines and service standards.
Profile
The successful WorkCover Payroll Specialist will have:
- Previous experience in payroll and/or Workers' Compensation payroll administration.
- Demonstrated experience calculating and processing Workers' Compensation payments within Victoria.
- Strong understanding of Victorian Workers' Compensation legislation and associated payroll practices.
- Experience calculating and administering PIAWE and CWE entitlements.
- Experience using payroll systems, with exposure to SAP, PayGlobal or Similar Systems highly regarded.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet payroll deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Relevant qualifications in Payroll, Accounting, Business, Human Resources or a related discipline are advantageous.
