An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Structural Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Operating successfully for more than 25 years and employing 40+ staff, this is a highly regarded local multidisciplinary consultancy with established Structural, Remedial, Civil and Stormwater teams.

The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Associate Director, you will join an established structural team and take a senior, hands-on role across both project delivery and the development of less experienced engineers.

You will have the opportunity to:

- Lead structural projects from initial concept through detailed design, documentation and construction
- Deliver a diverse portfolio of residential, multi-residential and associated building projects
- Work directly with architects, builders, developers and private clients
- Act as the technical lead across your own projects
- Undertake structural design across concrete, steel and timber structures
- Coordinate designs and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle




- Provide construction-stage support and undertake site inspections
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Review and oversee the work of junior and intermediate engineers
- Mentor and develop younger engineers, helping build their technical capability and confidence
- Work closely with senior management while continuing to develop towards broader leadership opportunities

This isn't a role where you'll simply sit behind a desk producing calculations. You'll have ownership of projects, direct client interaction and involvement throughout the full project lifecycle.
About You Ideally, you will have:

- 5+ years' structural engineering experience, preferably gained within an Australian consultancy
- Strong experience in structural design and documentation across residential and/or multi-residential buildings
- The capability to operate at Senior Engineer level, or be an experienced Engineer ready to make that next step
- Strong design capability across reinforced concrete, steel and timber
- Experience managing structural projects from concept through documentation and construction
- A sound understanding of relevant Australian Standards and building requirements
- Eligibility for, or existing registration as, a Design Practitioner under the NSW Design and Building Practitioners framework
- Confidence dealing directly with architects, builders, developers and other clients




- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- An interest in mentoring and supporting developing engineers
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent
