Senior & Lead Engineers — this one is for the people who actually enjoy modernising things.

We’re working with a growing group of technology businesses whose products are used by organisations to run essential, people-focused services — so the software you’ll be working on is genuinely business-critical.

n

We’re looking for experienced Senior/Lead Engineers to join a team working through a genuinely interesting engineering challenge: taking a mature, business-critical platform with plenty of history and transforming it into a modern, scalable ecosystem.

n

There’s a lot of legacy to work with — and that’s not a downside here. The modernisation is already underway.

n

The roadmap includes:

n

n
- Breaking apart a large monolith into loosely coupled applications
n
- Moving towards .NET, React & PostgreSQL
n
- Modernising architecture and integration patterns
n
- Improving data, scalability and operability
n
- Using GenAI as a genuine part of the software delivery lifecycle
n

n

And GenAI experience is a big one. We’re not looking for someone who has simply used ChatGPT to write a few lines of code. You’ll need to be able to talk about how you’ve actually used AI in software delivery — what you delegate to it, how you validate the output,



where you don’t trust it, and how it has changed the way you and your team work.

We’re looking for engineers who:

n

n
- Think beyond a single language or technology
n
- Understand architecture, data, integrations and operability
n
- Can take an ambiguous problem and turn it into something shipped
n
- Are comfortable working autonomously
n
- Enjoy mentoring and lifting the capability of other engineers
n
- Know how to improve a legacy codebase incrementally without breaking the business
n
- Are genuinely excited by modernisation — rather than waiting for the legacy part to disappear
n

PHP and/or .NET experience is highly valuable, with React, PostgreSQL, SQL Server and AWS also strong advantages.

n

But we’re not looking for someone who simply ticks every technology box. A outstanding engineer from an adjacent stack who understands systems, can solve problems and knows how to modernise complex software will absolutely be considered.
