Scaffold & Rigging Equipment Store Person

Base Industries is seeking expressions of interest from motivated individuals looking to build a career as a Scaffold and Rigging Store Person. Based at a major power station site in Gippsland, this role is central to keeping our scaffold yard and rigging store running safely and efficiently in support of a large-scale outage program.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a scaffolding or rigging background who wants hands-on yard and inventory responsibility, with a genuine path to full-time employment for the right person.

Key Duties

n

Scaffold Yard

n

Stacking and emptying scaffold equipment into stillages, servicing equipment, and maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard

n

Supporting scaffolders with materials and equipment

n

Loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with delivery of equipment to the work front

n

Operating forklifts to move materials and equipment within the yard

n

General housekeeping sweeping, cleaning, and addressing safety hazards

n

Assisting with stock checks and identifying materials required for upcoming work

n

Assisting with general yard duties, including painting, repairs, and gas cylinder transport/issuing as required

n

Maintaining accurate inventory of rigging equipment – slings, chains, wire rope, hardware, and other materials

n

Inspecting equipment for damage or wear, and performing basic maintenance

n





Conducting visual quarterly inspections and tagging of equipment (requires Advanced Rigger ticket, or Basic/Intermediate Rigger plus completion of a recognised height safety equipment inspection course)

n

Assisting with ordering of new equipment and supplies via SAP

n

Communicating with riggers and site staff regarding equipment availability, needs, and issues

n

Assisting with rigging operations where required, such as equipment set-up

n

Safety & Compliance

n

Adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures, and reporting unsafe conditions or equipment handling

n

Ensuring safe stacking, storage, and handling practices at all times

n

Participating in required safety training

n

Required Skills

n

Basic Scaffolding ticket

n

Advanced Rigging ticket

n

Current driver's licence (MR or above)

n

Sound knowledge of rigging equipment and secure handling practices

n

Strong inventory management and organisational skills

n

Mechanical aptitude and physical stamina for lifting and moving equipment

n

Ability to pass a full medical and police clearance

n

Experience with digital asset management, barcoding, or RFID inventory systems an advantage
