Position: Motor Mechanic Position Type: Full Time Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 p/a plus Super Employer Name: Franklins Workshops Pty Ltd A.B.N: ************** Job Location: 116 Jerrold Street, Sherwood, QLD 4075 Advertising Period - 20/08/2026 to 20/09/2026 Our client, Franklins Workshops Pty Ltd, is a well-established automotive workshop in Queensland with a strong reputation for quality workmanship, reliable service and customer satisfaction. The business provides a comprehensive range of automotive services, including vehicle diagnostics, routine servicing and maintenance, as well as complex mechanical and electrical repairs. The workshop is modern and well equipped, with advanced diagnostic equipment, specialised tools and technology that enable its skilled team to deliver efficient and high-quality automotive solutions. With continued business growth and increasing service demand, our client is seeking to employ an experienced and dedicated Motor Mechanic on a full-time basis to support its expanding operations and maintain the high standard of service provided to its customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discuss problems with vehicle operators to discover faults.
- Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components such as transmissions, suspensions, steering, brakes etc. to diagnose issues accurately.
- Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles in compliance with manufacturer's guidelines and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, tune-ups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tyres.
- Dismantles engine assemblies,
transmissions, steering mechanisms or other components and checks parts.
- Repair or replace broken, worn, or dysfunctional parts such as brake pads, wheel bearings etc. and test and reassemble components.
- Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition, and electronic fuel injection.
- Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on valuable vehicle use.
- Re-lines and adjusts brakes and perform wheel alignments.
- Test and re-adjust to ensure repairs and maintenance are effective using testing equipment or computers before handing over to the Client.
- Dealing with customers on a day-to-day basis
- Performing duties in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
- Keep logs on work and issues and ensure vehicles are in roadworthy order.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
- Explain to clients their automotive problems and the repairs done on their vehicles.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum Certificate III or IV qualification is required.
- At least 1 year of relevant industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Relevant certifications and qualifications in motor mechanics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Salary Package: $75,000 - $90,000 Plus Superannuation per annum.
