About the Role
n As a Cook at our Albany Accommodation, you'll play a key role in enhancing the wellbeing of our residents by preparing nutritious, delicious meals tailored to individual needs.
n Working closely with the Residential Manager and team, you'll plan menus, manage food supplies, and ensure the kitchen remains secure, clean, and compliant with food safety standards.
n This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking with purpose, values meaningful connections, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
n This is apermanent part-time positionwith 20 hours per fortnight. This position isbased in Albany Accommodation Centre.
n Key Responsibilities:

- Develop menu plans in consultation with residents and management, catering to dietary requirements
n
- Prepare and serve high-quality, nutritious meals with excellent presentation
n
- Ensure adequate food supplies through effective shopping and stock management
n
- Maintain strict food safety practices, including correct food storage, handling and labelling
n
- Keep kitchen areas clean, hygienic and compliant with health regulations
n
- Support small functions and communal meal preparation within the residence
n
- Maintain kitchen equipment, utensils and inventory
n
- Communicate effectively with staff to ensure residents' needs are consistently met
n

Must-haves:
n

- Food Safe Food Hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Previous experience in a similar cooking or hospitality role
n
- Ability to plan and prepare nutritious meals within a budget
n
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
n
- Good communication and teamwork skills
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
n
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module(or willingness to obtain)
n
