About the Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Site Engineer to join our growing Sydney project delivery team. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Site Managers across a diverse portfolio of commercial builds and industrial developments (including warehouses, logistics facilities, commercial fit-outs, and mixed-use spaces).

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer looking to take ownership of site operations, subcontractor coordination, quality assurance, and technical problem-solving on high-value Tier 2 projects.

Key Responsibilities

Site Coordination & Operations

- Manage day-to-day site execution, ensuring works adhere strictly to architectural/engineering drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
- Coordinate and supervise sub-contractors and site trades, driving daily progress and resolving technical issues in office.
- Liaise regularly with Site Managers, Foremen, and Project Engineers to ensure smooth handover between trade packages.

Technical & Quality Assurance (QA)

- Review design drawings, identify spatial/clash issues early, and raise Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Establish and drive site Quality Assurance processes, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and defect management.
- Conduct regular site surveillance and quality audits to maintain high structural and finishing standards.

Procurement & Contract Administration

- Assist in the procurement of trade packages, material take-offs, and order requisitions.

- Review and approve subcontractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and ensure compliance with site safety standards.
- Track site expenditures, variation dockets, and progress claims alongside the Project Engineer.

Safety & Environment (HSEQ)

- Enforce strict Work Health & Safety (WHS) and environmental management policies across all active work areas.
- Participate in site inductions, toolboxes, and risk assessments.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience as a Site/Junior Engineer within the Australian construction industry (Tier 2 or Tier 3 builder preferred).
- Project Experience: Exposure to commercial (office, retail, fit-out) or industrial (logistics hubs, warehouses, tilt-slab) projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural and architectural drawings.
- Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Solid understanding of local Sydney/NSW building codes and standards.
- Certifications: Valid NSW White Card; full Australian working rights.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and time-management skills with a practical, proactive mindset.

What They Offer

- Market-competitive salary package commensurate with experience + Super.
- Pipeline of diverse commercial and industrial projects across Sydney.
- Clear career progression pathways toward Project Engineer and Project Manager roles.
- Collaborative, supportive Tier 2 culture with direct mentorship from senior leaders.
