About the roleThe Staff Specialist - Orthopaedics is responsible for providing high-quality, cost-effective clinical and non-clinical orthopaedic services to patients of Metro North Health at Redcliffe Hospital. The role delivers specialist care across a broad range of orthopaedic services, including trauma, fracture management, adult reconstructive surgery and general orthopaedics, with a special interest in Foot and Ankle and Upper Limb surgery highly regarded.The successful candidate will lead the assessment and management of orthopaedic patients, contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement activities, and participate in the department's on-call roster. The role also involves supervising and teaching junior medical staff and medical students, supporting workforce development, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care.About youOur ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:Provide specialist orthopaedic assessment, treatment and ongoing management for patients while ensuring high standards of clinical care and patient safety.Supervise, mentor and support junior medical staff and medical students through teaching, clinical oversight and performance development activities.Participate in orthopaedic on-call, clinical audit, multidisciplinary meetings and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and outcomes.Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient management, transfers,
