Senior Technical Claims Lead - Liability

You’ll be joining a well-established insurance brokerage with a strong reputation in the Australian market. The role will see you working closely with a major Tier 1 construction client, managing a challenging and diverse liability claims portfolio.
You’ll be the lead for the liability function, supported by experienced Senior Claims Executives, with no direct reports. The team is focused on providing strategic claims advice and adding genuine value to principal contractors.

What will you be doing?

- Manage a portfolio of complex construction liability claims




- Handle PIPA claims through to conference and resolution
- Manage complex recoveries and drive claims towards subcontractors where appropriate
- Provide strategic claims advice and add value to principal contractors
- Manage third-party lines and coordinate with key stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with the client, insurers, brokers and other parties
- Lead the liability function and provide guidance on complex claims matters

What do you need?

- Vastinsurance experience, ideally within General Insurance
- Robust commercial liability claims experience
- Construction liability and PIPA experience is highly desirable
- Experience managing complex claims and recoveries
- A background in broking and/or insurer claims will be considered
- The maturity and confidence to manage relationships with Tier 1 clients
- Someone who can pick up an established portfolio and run with it autonomously
- Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
