Role Description
The Senior Interior Designer role is a full-time or FTE 0.8, on-site position based in Adelaide, SA. This role involves leading interior design projects from concept through delivery, including client briefings, design development, and coordination with architecture and project teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing design presentations, space plans, and construction documentation, selecting FF&E;, and ensuring design solutions align with client requirements and regulatory standards.
The Senior Interior Designer will mentor junior team members, collaborate with consultants and contractors, and support project management activities to keep projects on schedule and within budget. The role also includes participation in design reviews and contributing to IA’s design standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Robust Interior Design skills, with experience delivering complex workplace or commercial projects.
- Proficiency in Space Planning and FF&E; selection, including developing functional layouts and specifying finishes, furniture, and equipment.
- Experience producing detailed Construction Drawings and documentation, and coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
- Proficiency in Revit
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage stakeholders, and communicate clearly with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility standards, and workplace design best practices.
- Previous experience in commercial, government, or workplace fit-out environments is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership in mentoring junior staff and supporting QA processes
