- Role: Senior Performance Marketing Manager

The Opportunity
You know how to run performance campaigns. You have done it across multiple accounts, hit the targets, and kept clients happy. What you have not had yet is a role where the strategy is actually yours. This one is.
This is a newly created role at a well-regarded performance-focused agency in inner Melbourne, one that has built its reputation on measurable revenue outcomes for retail and consumer brands. The team is 90+ specialists solid, structured for accountability, and backed by elite-level partnerships with every major digital platform. You will report directly to the Head of Performance, with a clear pathway to Performance Director as the portfolio grows.
What You Will Be Doing
Client Leadership and Strategy
- Hold primary accountability for senior client relationships across a portfolio of 4 to 5 brands
- Lead annual and quarterly planning cycles, translating commercial client objectives into channel-level performance strategies
- Run weekly client reviews and quarterly business reviews with senior marketing stakeholders
- Contribute performance strategy to new business pitches, backed by data and platform insight
Campaign Oversight and Optimisation
- Maintain strategic oversight of campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, and Programmatic, with a coordinator managing day-to-day delivery
- Identify performance gaps and optimisation opportunities across the portfolio and act on them quickly
- Own quarterly KPI targets across performance media spend with direct accountability for results
- Deploy platform betas and emerging channel capabilities ahead of standard market practice
Team Development
- Take direct accountability for the output and growth of one performance coordinator
- Set priorities, review work, and develop their capability with consistency.
- Access ongoing people management coaching and internal leadership training as you grow into the role
- Contribute to a team culture where people are held to a high standard and supported to meet it
Reporting and Analytics
- Build and own client reporting frameworks in Looker Studio that drive action, not just visibility
- Partner with the data and analytics team to deliver consistent performance intelligence across your portfolio
- Translate campaign data into strategic recommendations presented clearly to senior client stakeholders
What You Bring
Experience Required
- 4-6 years in performance marketing at a digital or media agency, with end-to-end ownership of client accounts
- Demonstrated track record managing Google Ads and Meta at scale, with accountability for commercial outcomes
- Experience leading strategy across ROAS, conversion, lead generation & brand objectives
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple accounts without compromising quality or client confidence
Technical Skills Required
- Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager, advanced proficiency across search, shopping, and paid social campaign types
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Merchant Centre, with the ability to connect performance data to commercial outcomes
- Looker Studio, with experience building client-facing reporting dashboards that drive strategic decisions
Bonus Certifications
Google Ads or Meta Blueprint certifications are well regarded. Programmatic media certifications are a plus. Neither is a requirement for the right candidate.
