We'reon the hunt for aNurse Unit Manager to lead Perioperative Services at a well-established day hospital in regional Queensland. This role has come up because thepreviousNUM smashed it sohard,they got promoted to Director of Nursing/GM. Big shoes, sure – but also apretty greatsign ofwhat'spossible here.

Thisisn'ta "sit in an office and never see a patient again" kind of leadership role either.You'llstay clinically switched on while stepping up to run the show, andyou'llget genuine exposure to DON/GM responsibilities whenthey'reaway – becausesomeone'sgot to keep the ship sailing straight.

The Team You’ll Be Leading

- Director of Nursing / General Manager




- You – Nurse Unit Manager
- ANUM
- Clinical Nurse Specialists
- Registered Nurses
- Support Team

What You’ll Be Doing

- Leading the day-to-day running of the perioperative unit (theatre efficiency, staffing, the whole show)
- Coaching and developing your team so they grow, not just survive
- Keeping quality, compliance and accreditation ticking along nicely
- Stepping into DON/GM duties whenneeded, becauseyou'reclearly the trusted second-in-charge
- Being the calm, capable presence when things get busy (which,let'sbe honest, they will)

About You

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Perioperative experience, ideally with some ANUM, team leader or NUM runs on the board
- You can run a busy list and still crack a joke at handover
- Solid people skills – you can manage a roster clash without starting World War III
- Genuinely keen to grow into senior leadership, not just collect a current title
