- Position: Fixed Term (December 2027), Full Time
- Salary : $105,570 - $110,350 plus superannuation and salary package

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

Tutor will provide Education supports toAboriginal children and young people in carebyutilising a culturally informed and trauma-informed approachandensure tobest support young people to reengage with, attend and thrive in their chosen education setting and address gaps in learning with a focus on literacy and numeracy development.

They willbe responsible forproviding one‑on‑one educationalassistanceand tutoring, advising schools on individual learning needs, and supporting Individual Education Plan, Cultural Support ensures a culturally safe workplace and offersadditionalsupport to foster learning.

About You

- Commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
- A qualified teacher, with a minimum of 2 years classroom experience with children in primary and/or secondary schooling setting.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individualised educational plans.
- Ability to tailor and develop worksheets, workplans and utilisation of educational resources to respond to learning needs
- Experience engaging with education stakeholders and school support, collaborating to achieve individual student goals and improve literacy and numeracy
- Experience working with young people or children exhibiting challenging behaviours, or school disengagement




- Strong understanding of the education support systems available to young people living in residential care settings and an understanding of strengths‑based, trauma informed and therapeutic practice
- Ability to advocate for service intervention and client supports
- Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and aVictorian Driver Licence.Current COVID-19 vaccination(Strongly Recommended)
