Introduction: The Federal Government appointed Country SA PHN to enhance the delivery of focused and appropriate health services to the rural communities of South Australia.
The goal of the organisation is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health services for people particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes, improve the coordination of health services, and increase access and quality support for people.
The Opportunity
Working as part of the Commissioning team, the Contract and Performance Manager uses performance information, sound judgement, relationship management and innovative problem solving to ensure commissioning activities are delivered to a high standard and aligned with Country SA PHN's strategic priorities and objectives.
The Contract and Performance Manager is responsible for the effective management and oversight of service contracts, applying best practice contract and performance management principles to support high quality, efficient and outcomes focused service delivery that delivers the greatest possible health benefit for country South Australians.
The Contract and Performance Manager builds strategic and collaborative relationships with commissioned service providers and key internal stakeholders to drive performance, strengthen accountability and support continuous improvement. The role monitors contractual and service performance, service risks, and works collaboratively to resolve issues and improve service quality, efficiency and outcomes.
Under the direction of the Executive Manager and Senior Manager, Commissioning, the Contract and Performance Manager contributes to procurement activities, such as tenders and requests for proposals,
in accordance with appropriate procurement and probity principles.

Country SA PHN offers a adaptable working location with offices located around the state, including Nuriootpa, Black Forest and Mount Barker.

You are a collaborative and solutions-focused professional who combines strong analytical and communication skills with sound judgement and a practical approach to problem-solving. You build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, confidently navigate competing priorities and complex issues, and are motivated by improving health outcomes for rural communities.
About You
- Relevant qualification or experience in a health-related discipline, contract management, procurement, business management, health administration or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to apply an innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in establishing, managing and evaluating programs or projects, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Developed negotiation, conflict resolution and communication skills, preferably in the context of performance monitoring and feedback.
- Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, and ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly analysing complex datasets for trends and gaps.
- Ability to effectively prioritise, manage workload, and deliver results across multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, as part of a team and across business areas, functions, and organisations.
Additionally, you will:
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with a cross-sectoral range of stakeholders who themselves are subject area experts
- Ability to be adaptable and responsive to changing needs and directions.
- Demonstrates integrity and is committed to the appropriate and ethical use of information, data and analytics.
