Role location: UNSW, Kensington

Full time role - 38 hours per week

Are you a natural leader with a green thumb and an eye for detail? If so, we invite you to join our team as a Horticulturist.

n

This full time position is based at UNSW in Kensington. This is a hands-on role where you will use your expertise with all aspects of garden maintenance and plant knowledge to ensure our client's standards are exceeded and assist with mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

n

- Assist with leading a team of maintenance staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
n
- Follow schedules and prioritise tasks to ensure timely completion of horticulture requirements for the site
n
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to the team to enhance their horticultural skills and safety practices.
n
- Undertake hands on work including pruning and shaping of shrubs and hedges and plant and pest identification.
n
- Regularly inspect garden areas to assess their condition, identify improvements needed, and implement corrective actions.

About You

n

You are a mature and reliable team player ready to take your expertise to the next level at a high-profile site. You have a broad garden maintenance experience and excellent plant knowledge which you enjoy sharing with junior team members.

- Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens
n
- 3 years' experience in a similar role
n
- Driver's licence and White Card
n
- Chem Cert is desired but not essential
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Proven ability to effectively prioritise workflows and manage your time
n
