An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established industrial operation based in Proserpine, Queensland. Working within a dynamic maintenance team, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant and equipment across a large-scale manufacturing environment.

About the Role

n

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance, fault finding, machining, fabrication, and repair work on a variety of mechanical equipment and assets.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of mechanical plant and equipment.
n
- Carry out precision machining, fitting, and fabrication activities.
n
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions.
n
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks to minimise downtime.
n
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance documentation.
n
- Maintain a strong commitment to workplace health, safety,



and environmental standards.
n
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to achieve production targets.
n

About You

n
- To be successful in this role, you will possess:
n
- Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner (or equivalent mechanical trade).
n
- Demonstrated experience in industrial, manufacturing, mining, sugar milling, or heavy engineering environments.
n
- Robust machining, fitting, and fault-finding skills.
n
- Experience working with pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, rotating equipment, and hydraulic systems.
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
- A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.
n
- Current driver's licence.
n
