The Opportunity

Play a key role in leading community engagement activities that connect Council with the community. As the Community Engagement Advisor, you will design and deliver effective engagement and communication strategies and provide advice to project teams to ensure there is community input on projects and initiatives to inform decision-making and contribute to positive outcomes for Noosa shire.

- Position Remuneration - LGOA Level 6
- $109,838 Base annual salary
- $124,675 Total Remuneration Package which is based on a full-time employee and inclusive of 12% Employer superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.

About You

You are an experienced, proactive community engagement professional with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. You can confidently build trusted relationships, provide strategic advice and deliver meaningful, best-practice engagement outcomes that support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver community engagement and communication strategies that support Council projects, services and initiatives




- Provide expert advice and guidance to project teams, community engagement officer to ensure engagement activities align with best-practice principles and Council’s Community Engagement Framework
- Coordinate and evaluate engagement activities, including surveys, focus groups and online consultation, to inform decision-making and improve service delivery
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster meaningful community participation and positive project outcomes

Skills and Experience

- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, consultation and stakeholder engagement, with a strong understanding of contemporary engagement principles and best-practice approaches
- Proven ability to develop and deliver engagement and communication plans that support a range of projects, programs and organisational initiatives
- Experience providing strategic advice and support to project teams to achieve effective, inclusive and meaningful community engagement outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to collect, interpret and evaluate engagement data, feedback and insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, community members and internal teams

Qualifications

- Diploma or Degree in Communications, Community Engagement, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Social Sciences or a related discipline, and/or substantial relevant experience
- International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Certificate in Engagement
- Current Queensland "C" Class Driver Licence
