About the role
Perth Tax Professionals Pty Ltd is seeking a Graduate Accountant / Junior Accountant to join our dynamic taxation team. This is a full-time position based in Morley, WA 6062 . As a Graduate or Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our taxation services and building a solid foundation for your accounting career. This position offers the opportunity to develop your technical accounting and tax knowledge whilst working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment. You will contribute to client service delivery whilst gaining practical experience across various taxation matters and accounting functions.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and reviewing tax returns for individual and business clients in compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements

- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and tax documentation for clients

- Conducting research on taxation issues and keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation

- Providing support with bookkeeping and general accounting tasks as required

- Managing client communications and liaising with clients regarding tax matters and documentation requirements

- Assisting in the organisation and maintenance of client files and tax records

- Supporting senior accountants and tax professionals with ad-hoc accounting and taxation projects

- Contributing to the delivery of high-quality tax advice and accounting services to our client base

What we're looking for

- A completed or near-completed Bachelor of Commerce,



Bachelor of Accounting or similar tertiary accounting qualification

- Strong foundational knowledge of Australian tax law and accounting principles

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial and tax documentation

- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple client matters

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly

- A proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to learn and develop professional skills

- Professional demeanour with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and ethical standards

- Membership or eligibility to become a member of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) or the National Institute of Accountants (NIA) is desirable

- Prior experience in a tax or accounting firm is advantageous but not essential for candidates with strong academic performance
