Balance Planning Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our team on a part-time basis. Based in the Lower Blue Mountains, NSW, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future development of our communities.

As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in developing and implementing planning application strategies that align with our clients' objectives and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for a professional seeking flexibility whilst maintaining meaningful involvement in planning projects.

What you'll be doing

n

- Conducting planning feasibility studies and site assessments to inform recommendations and application strategies
n
- Advising clients on planning compliance, zoning regulations and development potential
n
- Collaborating with architects, engineers and other professionals to integrate planning considerations into project delivery
n
- Liaising with local councils, government agencies and stakeholders to navigate planning requirements and secure approvals
n
- Staying up to date with planning legislation, policy changes and industry best practice
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related discipline
n
- Minimum 8 years' professional experience in town planning roles, ideally with development application experience
n




- Strong knowledge of NSW planning legislation, including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and local planning instruments
n
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing planning documents and planning feasibility studies
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex planning concepts clearly and succinctly
n
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder relationships effectively
n
