Job Description

We are working with a high-growth, Australia-based renewable energy business seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to join its in-house team in a senior legal capacity.

This is a broad and visible role, supporting a dynamic business operating at the forefront of the energy transition, with exposure to complex projects, strategic decision-making and Board-level matters.

The role will involve:

n

- Providing strategic legal and commercial advice across the business, including contracting strategy, risk allocation and project delivery
n
- Leading negotiations with key suppliers and partners, and drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
n
- Managing disputes and advising on dispute strategy and risk mitigation
n
- Supporting regulatory compliance and identifying emerging legal and operational risks
n
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including the executive team and Board
n
- Supporting governance processes, including Board and committee preparation and reporting
n
- Managing external counsel and key stakeholder relationships,



including joint venture partners
n

About you:

n
- 6+ PQE commercial lawyer with a mix of private practice and/or in-house experience
n
- Strong background in commercial contracting, projects or energy/infrastructure sectors
n
- Experience leading negotiations and advising on complex, high-value transactions
n
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities
n
- Robust stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of a business
n
- Experience supporting governance processes and working closely with senior leadership is highly desirable
n
