Strategy & Business Development Manager – Energy Infrastructure

People8 has partnered with an established infrastructure contractor seeking a senior Strategy & Business Development Manager to drive growth across the electricity distribution market.

This role combines strategic market development with hands‑on business development across major energy organisations.

You’ll bring genuine distribution‑sector experience, solid industry relationships and a proven ability to turn relationships into commercial opportunities.

About the Company

An integrated electrical, civil and telecommunications contractor delivering end‑to‑end infrastructure projects. The business is investing in its next phase of growth, with a particular focus on expanding its presence across electricity distribution and strengthening relationships with major participants in the Australian energy market.

This is not a purely strategic position. You will work closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities, establish new client relationships, strengthen existing networks and convert market opportunities into a sustainable pipeline of work.

Requirements





- Demonstrated electricity distribution experience is essential, with a strong understanding of the Australian energy and utilities market
- Proven business development capability, including originating opportunities and converting relationships into a genuine pipeline
- Established relationships across major energy retailers, distributors, network operators and infrastructure stakeholders
- Ability to build credibility with senior decision‑makers and develop relationships with strategically important energy organisations
- Commercially astute with experience shaping growth strategy, tenders, partnerships and market opportunities
