The Opportunity

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an active Australian Government Defence security clearance at the level required for the position.

AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile Defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.

A Project Management & Production Operations Manager opportunity has arisen which can be based out of either Newcastle or Adelaide.

Key responsibilities

- Manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
- Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
- Oversees the status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
- Monitors the assessment of project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- The establishment of the production capability and managing production requirements for program from concept to execution.
- Ensures the development of mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. Extensive PM experience (cost, schedule, quality, risk/opportunity) within the Defence Industry, including experience with developing cost and schedule baselines for large development and Production Operations effort.

What you'll bring

- Advanced planning, stakeholder engagement and execution of an ERP rollout.
- Experience with Agile program management.




- Experience with the development of Business Cases and Proposals.
- An understanding of the interfaces between stakeholders technical, Procurement, Quality, ILS and Systems Engineering Lifecycle; &
- Experience in financial management and reporting.
