About the role
We are currently seeking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in Perth, with a key focus on supporting the delivery of the New Mandurah Hospital Project. You will provide practical WHS support across the project, while promoting a positive safety culture through engagement, education and continuous improvement. This is a site based, hands-on role with the opportunity to make a real difference on a major infrastructure project in Western Australia. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will work closely with crews and leaders to help create a safe, positive, and high-performing workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Providing day to day WHS advice and support to project teams and subcontractors
- Conducting site inspections, observations and risk assessments
- Coaching supervisors, leading hands and crews to improve safe work practices
- Supporting incident investigations, including root cause analysis and human factors
- Assisting with audits, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Delivering toolbox talks, safety briefings and one-on-one coaching
- Supporting compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations
- Promoting compliance with the project Safety Management System and procedures
- Completing relevant reporting and administrative tasks associated with the role
- Building strong working relationships with employees and contractors across the project
About you
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within Building projects or related sectors
- Sound knowledge and practical application of Australian WHS legislation and industry standards
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting risk management, workplace inspections, incident investigations, safety systems and audits
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting capabilities
- Well-developed computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in ICAM investigations and/or internal auditing of safety management systems will be highly regarded
