About the role
This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week , based at our North Adelaide practice.
Working closely with Dr Alex Cameron, our Nurse Consultant, Practice Manager and the wider Morphē team , you will provide dedicated PA and surgical administrative support to Dr Cameron and play a key role in coordinating his private practice.
This is a varied and trusted position requiring excellent organisation, attention to detail and a warm, professional approach to patient care. You will help coordinate each stage of the patient journey, from initial enquiry and consultation through to surgery and post-operative follow-up, while ensuring the administrative requirements of a busy surgical practice are managed efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Providing dedicated administrative and personal assistant support to Dr Cameron
- Managing patient enquiries, appointments, referrals and ongoing communication
- Accurate coordinating surgical bookings and theatre lists across multiple private hospitals
- Preparing and managing surgical quotations, financial information and associated documentation
- Managing patient billing, invoicing and payments, including follow-up of outstanding accounts, working closely with the Practice Manager
- Liaising with hospitals, anaesthetists, other specialists and healthcare providers
- Managing correspondence, referrals, reports and filing and documentation
- Coordinating pre-operative and post-operative appointments and requirements
- Providing chaperone support during consultations and examinations when required
- Assisting with clinical photography and patient imaging in accordance with practice protocols and patient consent
- Supporting the broader administration team with front desk, telephone and payment duties when required
About you
You will ideally have previous experience in specialist medical administration, surgical secretarial work or a medical PA role . Experience within plastic and reconstructive surgery would be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right candidate.
More importantly, you will be someone who:
- Is exceptionally organised and has excellent attention to detail
- Communicates warmly, sensitively and professionally with patients
- Communicates effectively and works collaboratively with the front desk and wider administration team
- Is confident managing multiple priorities and following tasks through to completion
- Takes ownership and pride in their work
- Is professionally presented and takes pride in creating a warm, polished and professional experience for patients
- Has experience with and an understanding of Medicare, private health insurance and cosmetic procedures
- Understands the importance of discretion, privacy and confidentiality
- Is comfortable working in a patient-facing surgical environment, including providing chaperone support and assisting with clinical imaging
- Is comfortable working independently while also being a genuine team player
- Is flexible and willing to adapt when the needs of patients, the surgeon or practice change
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills
- Has experience using medical practice management software, or is confident learning new systems

Pre-employment requirements
The successful candidate will be required to complete satisfactory reference and police checks and hold, or be willing to obtain, a current First Aid Certificate and any relevant employment screening checks required for the role.
