About the City of Kalamunda
The City of Kalamunda is a local authority with a population of 60,000 located approximately a 35 minute drive from the Perth CBD providing the opportunity to work in a varied planning environment, from rural natural bushland to highly developed residential, commercial and industrial areas.
About this Opportunity
Provide high-quality customer service and administrative support as the primary point of contact for Environmental Health services. Coordinate customer enquiries, service requests and complaints, maintain business systems and records, and support the efficient delivery of regulatory and public health services.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver high-quality customer service as the first point of contact for Environmental Health enquiries, complaints, and service requests.
- Receive, assess, allocate, and monitor customer requests and complaints to ensure service standards and response timeframes are achieved.
- Provide accurate and timely advice on Environmental Health services, processes, and relevant legislation to customers and stakeholders.
- Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the timely resolution of enquiries and service issues.
- Support administrative processes associated with statutory applications, registrations, permits, and compliance activities.
- Maintain accurate records and data within corporate systems, including customer request management, records management, and Environmental Health databases.
- Prepare and coordinate reports, correspondence, notices, regulatory documentation, inspections, meetings, and other operational activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, business plans, and service improvement projects to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Undertake relevant training and apply organisational values, workplace health and safety requirements, policies, and procedures in the performance of duties.

The successful candidate will have the following:
- Relevant training or equivalent experience in a Customer Relations capacity.
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate

Selection Criteria
1. Ability to ensure consistently high standards of customer service is delivered both internally and externally.
2. Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
3. A sound level of understanding of the broad functions of Local Government, statutory requirements, and laws.
4. Good quality and accurate presentation of advice, both verbally and written, via all standard forms of business communication (including email, memo, letters, reports; policies; procedures; and the development and delivery of visual presentations).
5. Demonstrated administration experience, including administering programs, preparing business correspondence, maintaining records and managing information within corporate systems.
6. Developed ability to prioritise and work in a timely manner to achieve outcomes.
7. Highly developed skills in the use of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) and IT Vision's – Synergy Soft.
8.
Ability to foster a culture of innovation and excellence through continual team improvement.
Hours of Work
This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight.
About the Benefits
This position offers a salary of Level 4 being $78,184.26 to $83,302.30 per annum , (depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant) plus 12% superannuation.
